SECURITY RISK ADVISORS ANNOUNCES EXPANSION IN PHILADELPHIA AND A NEW OFFICE IN ROCHESTER, NY

Cybersecurity and Risk Management Consulting Company Experiencing Company and Employee Growth

Philadelphia, Pa – Security Risk Advisors announced the company’s Philadelphia office expansion and a new office location in Rochester, NY. Security Risk Advisors (SRA), a cybersecurity and risk management consulting company, has been based in Philadelphia since its founding in 2010. In the last 9 years the company has grown from 4 teammates to over 140, and the business has grown an average of 20% each year.

The founders of Security Risk Advisors, all from the Philly area, started the company as a virtual organization. In 2017, their strategy to grow by mentoring a larger number of University hires led to the decision to open a physical office in Philadelphia at 1760 Market Street. In the two years since SRA opened the Market Street office, it outgrew the space. This spring, SRA expanded to another floor in the same building with room for an additional 25 employees.

Managing Director Tim Wainwright said, “We love the energy and resources here in Philly, but what keeps us here is the amazing info security talent coming from the local academic institutions. An integral part of our hiring strategy is to hire campus talent and train them to be dynamic consultants. As they grow, we work hard to make SRA a wonderful place for on-going mentorship, technical and professional development.”

The success of the office in Philadelphia led to the decision to open a new office in Rochester, NY. Like the Philadelphia Region, western NY has excellent academic institutions and students. SRA will continue to create jobs in both areas and keep tech talent in the regions. The office in Rochester was established with the support of the Empire Development Corporation, Greater Rochester Enterprise, and Monroe County.

Director Mike Pinch, Rochester Office, said, “We are proud to establish an office in Rochester, NY. The cybersecurity talent pool in Rochester is outstanding. The proximity to top colleges and industry leading companies, in addition to the quality of life in Western New York made the decision to open our second office in Rochester an easy one. Security Risk Advisors looks forward to remarkable success delivering world-class consulting services, contributing high-quality cybersecurity thought leadership, and developing the next generation of security professionals here in Rochester.”

SRA consistently recruits and hires from the outstanding tech programs in the Philadelphia and western NY regions. Graduates from Penn State, Drexel, Temple, and IT Works in Philadelphia, and the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Union and the University of Rochester in Western NY have succeeded at SRA. SRA’s support of growing the next generations of cyber professionals goes beyond hiring and mentoring teammates. SRA is currently sponsoring the Drexel CyberDragons and RITSEC, the cybersecurity club at RIT. As part of their commitment to closing the gap of underrepresented populations in the tech industry, SRA hosts an annual Women’s Networking Night for college women to connect with female leaders in cybersecurity. SRA also has a partnership with the Girl Scouts of Southeastern PA to help scouts earn their cybersecurity badge and introduce them to jobs in cybersecurity.

Security Risk Advisors provides cybersecurity expertise to its clients with a focus on the Fortune and Global 1000. Consulting services include ethical hacking, risk assessments, compliance, engineering, and managed detection and response. The forward-thinking company contributes to industry thought leadership by developing free software, mentoring students, and sponsoring cyber competitions and women-in-cyber conferences.
